Founded in 1967, the legendary music venue Gibus can boast of having hosted numerous icons including James Brown, Chuck Berry, Iggy Pop, the Sex Pistols and the Clash. French stars have not been left out, with Rita Mitsouko, Mano Negra, Bob Sinclair and Daft Punk. With a special focus on punk in the early 1980s, the venue then became a devotee of rock before moving towards electro in the mid-1990s.

Gibus has now become a landmark for the Hip Hop, Rap and R'n'B generation. DJ Cut Killer, DJ Abdel, DJ Cutee B, DJ Dee Nasty, DJ Lbr - to name but a few of the most famous - lay down grooves for all the capital's b-boys and fly-girls. Every weekend, the Candy Club, Party Up, Big Pimpin, Hard Level, Playtime and Get Crunk nights fire up the bling bling generation. "Anonymous" guests sometimes include Lord Kossity, Booba, Mokobé, Krys, La Fouine, Patson, Sniper or Admiral T... Whether the theme is East Coast, West Coast, Dance Hall or Dirty South, 40 years after the first rock guitars, the legendary République club is still "in the mix".
