The Atelier Charonne

Opened in April 2008, the Atelier Charonne combines the spirit of Django Reinhardt with a younger generations of musicians.

Owned by two fans of gypsy jazz, the Atelier Charonne has established itself as the new meeting place for the descendants of Django Reinhardt, whether they have gypsy blood or are skilled in the music of the talented guitarist. And the leading representatives of the genre have already appeared on the stage of this charming venue which has restaurant and bar areas. On the walls are photos of great jazzmen and retro cinema posters. On the restaurant side, a traditional menu of good food from the market; on the bar side, leather armchairs, coffee tables and little coloured candles lend an intimate atmosphere to the musical entertainments. From Tuesday to Saturday, the concerts present both true leaders of the genre - Tchavolo Schmitt, Angelo Debarre, Romane, Costel Nitescu, the Ferré brothers, etc. - and the new gypsy swing generation, which competes in terms of brilliance and skill.
