A large cobblestone street bordered by small white brick houses.  Imagine this rural village located in the heart of the ultra modern neighbourhood of Tolbiac. A few feet from the Bercy Park lies the contemporary architectural achievement of the Bibliothèque nationale de France (France's national library), the Simone de Beauvoir footbridge and the Cinémathèque française (French cinema house).

Here, there are no cars, no horns and none of the Parisian stress. Families, friends and lovers stroll peacefully through the gardens, browsing at the boutiques - Nature et Découverte, Olivers & Co – leafing through the latest comic books at Album, and finishing with a well-deserved massage at Spa Omnisens.

In the evening, the atmosphere is very festive. The terraces of the cafés overflow with locals and outsiders, while the regulars meet up at the English pub.

Bercy Village is also an important place for the arts. Exhibitions, sculptures, paintings and photos are often on view in the streets and passage ways of this charming area. Each year, amateurs and professionals alike take to the streets in the annual dance festival « Entrez dans la danse ». In the summer months, the students from the conservatory gather to give free café concerts, every Tuesday and Thursday, after work in a special program known as « Rendez-vous aux Terrasses ».
