Entirely dedicated to flowers, this picturesque little market on the l'île de la Cité will be your most fragrant stop along the banks of the river Seine.
Since 1808, the lovely metal pavilions shade this bucolic Flower Market (Le Marché aux Fleurs). A wide array of flowers, plants and trees can be found. Tens of thousands of pots are displayed : Primavera's, Violets, Bilberries, Pomegranates and other beautiful plants are offered each season. Due to the forms and the vibrant colours, many artists and creators come to loose themselves in this urban prairie looking for inspiration. On Sundays, the picture is complete with the opening of the Bird Market (le Marché aux Oiseaux) where you can find rare species and all the accessories to go with them.
