You no longer need to go inside a concert venue to listen to music. At the start of summer, the parks and gardens in the north of Paris organise the Festival Musiques et Jardins to the sound of World Music. From 27th June to 11th July 2010, a dozen concerts are programmed over three weekends, linked to numerous activities. In 2008 the performers were Pascal Contet, Angélique Ionatos, Marc Perrone and the Manège Acousmatique. Alongside the concerts, the group Moleque du Rua ran free Brazilian percussion music workshops for children.

Last year, the Lapins Superstars, the Ministère des Affaires Populaires and Legalizik had the Carpeaux and Rachmaninov Squares rocking. No doubt that this 8th year of the Musiques et Jardins festival will be as good as previous ones and will give a holiday feel to your afternoons spent relaxing on the grass.
