MAC/VAL, Musée d'Art Contemporain du Val-de-Marne
A visual artist of emotion, Christian Boltanski is one of the best-known French contemporary artists on the international scene.
A personal or anonymous mythology, his work is structured around questions linked to childhood, memory and death.
Boltanski extends the invitation to discover the original device he has created specially for the museum. Using several of his monumental sculptures as a starting point, the artist has chosen to give them a new interpretation by adapting them to the location.
On an original journey, you even walk inside his works, confronted by the memory and emotional qualities of the materials used.
Other parallel exhibition is held simultaneously for Monumenta 2010 in the Nave of the Grand Palais from 13 January to 21 February, 2010. Taking up the challenge of the exceptional physical dimensions of the Grand Palais, Christian Boltanski has created a dramatic and spectacular production: “Personnes ”.
From 24 January to 21 February 2010, free shuttles are available every Sunday from the Grand Palais to the MAC/VAL.
