Château de Versailles
Monumental works made of steel polished balls or fresh flowers, banal objects, hoovers, cartoon characters or even porcelain statues transformed into pop-art creations... Jeff Koons is without a doubt the new star on the contemporary art scene! Invited as 'the guest of honour' in the temporary exhibition festival of « Versailles off », the works of the American artist, strange, bizarre and gigantic, have taken up residence in the castle and the gardens. The 17 works exhibited in the royal apartments, the Mirror Gallery and the park were selected and placed by Jeff Koons to reinforce the link between site and setting. The highlight of this show is the gigantic "Split Rocker" structure that you can admire from the Orangerie.
