It was in the early 1970s that Andy Warhol developed a systemized painting procedure in his New York studio ("The Factory”) which heralded a new form of mass-produced, almost industrial, artistic production.
"Le Grand monde d’Andy Warhol" exhibition brings together a selection of 250 works from the 1000 portraits painted by Andy Warhol over the last 25 years of his life (1962-1987). The selection is presented according to various themes and you can see, among others, Hollywood stars (Marilyn Monroe, Liz Taylor, BB, etc), pop stars (Mick Jagger, etc.), artists (Man Ray, David Hockney, Joseph Beuys, Keith Haring, etc.), politicians (Willy Brandt, etc.), fashion designers (Yves Saint Laurent, Sonia Rykiel, etc.) as well as jet-setters (Gianni Agnelli, the Princess of Monaco, etc.). The entire American social scene… in paint!
