Nef du Grand Palais
Taking up the challenge of the exceptional physical dimensions of the Grand Palais, Christian Boltanski has created a dramatic and spectacular production for Monumenta 2010: “Personnes”.
Over the 13,500 m² of the nave of the Grand Palais, discover an original audio-visual commemoration, devised by the visual artist who is one of the main contemporary artists in France. Conceived as a unique piece of work that transforms the entire building by creating an especially moving atmosphere, the installation greets the visitor as a massive animated painting.
Don’t miss this exhibition, which sets art as the last resort of emotion, the sole sacred space devoted to the humanity of each man and to his individual memory.
Other parallel exhibition is held simultaneously in the MAC/VAL from 15 January to 28 March, 2010. For the original exhibition "Aprés", Christian Boltanski has reinvented his monumental work.
From 24 January to 21 February 2010, free shuttles are available every Sunday from the Grand Palais to the MAC/VAL.
Departures from the Grand Palais : 14:30 ; 15:30.
Departures from MAC/VAL : 16:00 ; 18:00.
