Australian fashion photographer originally from Germany, the author of many female nudes, Helmut Newton became successful notably inworking for the French edition of Vogue.
His unique and sometimes provocative style, mixing eroticism and an underlying violence, goes beyond the world of fashion and offers a unique vision of the female body.
Throughout this retrospective, you can discover the Newtonian themes (portraits, sex, humour, etc.) through the two hundred photographs that have been assembled(Polaroids, monumental images, working prints, etc.) from the Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin, which hosts the archive of his work.
Do not miss the film Helmut by June, directed by Newton’s wife, June, tracing almost sixty years of the photographer’s life.
