It’s hard not to be mesmerized by this exhibition dedicated to late Egyptian art, which brings together numerous works of art, each more exceptional than the last.
From 23 March To 23 July 2012
Musée Jacquemart-André
From the long and rich history of the Pharaohs, the Musée Jacquemart-André chooses to explore the customs of the dynasties from the last millennium (from 1070 to 30 BC).
Through a thematic journey enriched with around a hundred rare exhibits lent by museums as prestigious as the British Museum or the Metropolitan Museum, you will be able to discover the various aspects of Egyptian art over the last ten dynasties. These works (funerary masks, jewellery, religious objects, sculptures, etc.) were used to decorate temples or the tombs of the wealthy and are characterized by their understated aesthetics and fascinating technical know-how.
Among the themes developed, do not miss the sections dedicated to the figure of the Pharaoh, the Egyptian pantheon and the realm of the after-life.
