Jeu de Paume
After several zoom-ins on part of his work, the American photographer is presenting, for the first time in Paris, an exhibition of his whole works marked by three great periods.
This disciple of Man Ray arrived in Paris in 1920 and got a name for himself as a portrait painter of artists and intellectuals such as Marcel Duchamp, Cocteau, Gide, etc. It was in the middle of an economic crisis that she was recruited by the American government for the photographic project Changing New York, in which she offered a view of the (architectural) changes in New York. She then later created some scientific photos, combining aesthetics and pedagogy. These 140 images bear witness to her brilliant career.
