It is throughsome sixty works that have been carefully selected, that the Pompidou Centre invites you to explore a common feature of the work of Henri Matisse: variations on a common the meor pattern.
You will have the opportunity to learn more about the work of the French painter who died in Nice in 1954, by immersing yourself into the processes and techniques developed by the artist, regarding colour, framing, series and even stylization.
A reflection that Matisse pursued throughout his long career, as evidenced by the paintings, paper cuts or drawings exhibited here, which document all his major periods.
A major event, which notably includes a very successful series of drawings entitled Themes and Variations, it would bea shame to miss it!
