For a great start to the evening, visit the museum on the first Saturday of the month.
From 07 November 2009 To 05 June 2010
Musée du quai Branly
A genuine cultural centre, a place interweaving different periods, themes and geographical areas, the Musée du Quai Branly creates a dialogue between cultures and generations, between contemporary creativity and tradition, merging disciplines and exchanging points of view…
Every first Saturday of the month, from 6pm to 9pm, the museum opens its doors to 18-25 year olds for a new friendly and eclectic event: Befores.
From slam poetry to ethnic drinks, via contemporary photography and hip-hop, young artists and thinkers share their creations and thoughts – always with a reference to the Musée du Quai Branly’s collections – with the younger generation.
Each Before explores a different topic and the central theme of these festive, fun and interactive events ‒ martial arts, slam poetry, ethnic cocktails, jazz, videos, electro – leaves room for improvisation, performances and "happenings", taking over every area of the museum.
