A formica bar, imitation leather bar stools and orange lino dance floor… The village hall is the ideal place to hold an unforgettable party! Seven characters come in and out of this banal and familiar venue in which, between the agitated preparations and dreams of glory, everything will fall apart over the course of an evening.

"Salle des fêtes" is the latest creation from the famous duo of Macha Makeieff and Jérôme Deschamps. Director Macha Makeieff founded the Famille Deschiens troupe jointly with Jérôme Deschamps, an actor, director, playwright and now director with the Théâtre de l’Opéra-Comique.

For the last 30 years, on stage and television, these two talented storytellers have packed their artistic world with disheveled, pathetic characters, heroes of tender and burlesque parodies.
Full of poetry, humour and disenchantment, "Salle des fêtes" is a play which thoughtfully examines our contemporaries’ foibles, whose comic-absurd world is not unlike that of Jacques Tati.
