Musette flea market jazz 2010 - Sanseverino Petit Navire

Musette flea market jazz

The foremost rendezvous for gypsy jazz and musette-swing lovers in the heart of the picturesque antique market.

This event is over. To find another one in Paris Île-de-France, see the datebook.

From 18 To 21 June 2010

A musical flea market weekend in the labyrinth of Les Puces, in the north of Paris, at this friendly and popular rendezvous with stars of gypsy jazz and musette swing playing in the midst of the mingling crowds.

From 3pm to 7pm the festivities move into the bars. While hunting for bargain books or period furniture, you may well bump into stars like Didier Lockwood and Bireli Lagrène in the brasseries and local markets jamming with friends or young orchestras. This is also the opportunity to discover young future talents such as cheeky singer Zaz, recalling Piaf and Billie Holiday, the exciting Jazz Angels quartet and Swan Berger, the prodigal 12 year-old guitarist who already plays alongside the very best. And the A.Z III trio will take you to the ends of the earth with their jazz version of Charles Aznavour’s repertory.

On 19th June, all the stars will get together for a free concert on the stage of the Cap Saint Ouen, with an amusing idea this year: “hyphenated artists”. A long line of consecutive performances including famous accordionist Marcel Azzola, Thomas Dutronc, the singer Maurane, guitarist Ninine Garcia and Vincent Peirani, virtuoso clarinet player and accordionist.

And don’t miss the grand finale on 20th June with the Great Ball and a concert by La Guinche, a quartet well-known by regulars for its irresistibly communicative swing.
