In the mood for getting heady on jazz and fresh air? Only one place to go: the Parc Floral in Paris. Every weekend from 12th June to 1st August, from 9.30 am to 8 pm, you can stroll between the main stage and the two grassy theatres while enjoying improvisations by exceptional musicians, take part in astonishing sound workshops and end the afternoon with concerts on the main stage. All for the modest price of an entrance ticket to the park.

Programmed in this 2010 edition: a wide range of international stars and lots of vocal jazz. Take note of the delightful Korean singer Youn Sun Nah, two great voices in duo, those of David Linx and Maria Joao and the Franco-Cameroonian fiery-spirited soul diva Sandra Nkaké.

Not forgetting an instrumental dive into the little-known world of Arabo-Israeli jazz with the Hagiga Quintet and the Oriental Music Ensemble and Scandinavian jazz, represented by the well-known Niels Peter Mollvaer Trio and the Jan Gabarek Group. The scene from Berlin will also be present with intrepid pianist Joachim Kühn and his new trio.

And for those into genre-mixing, Enrico Pieranuzzi will be swinging Scarlatti sonatas in piano solos and Richard Galliano’s sextet will get intimate with the repertory of Johann Sebastian Bach. In the same vein, don’t miss the piece composed by the Daniel Goyone Trio with harpist Isabelle Olivier in a chamber jazz concert which should be truly magical.
