Nearly 40,000 people attended last year, moving from one screening room to another at the festival in Seine-et-Marne, Essonne and in the Yvelines. The best film was chosen by a jury of 400 children. This project was set up by the organizers to develop children’s critical thinking.
The Association Aux 4 coins de l’enfance (Children across the globe) has been opening children to the wider world and different cultures for over twenty years. Several workshops have been set up, including the Young cinema workshop, where children suffering hardship can make a film with the help of young film directors.
The list of films this year includes: La Guerre des boutons (War of the buttons) by Yves Robert, Tomboy, La Grotte des rêves perdus (The Cave of Lost Dreams), Aladin et la Lampe merveilleuse (Aladin and the Wonderful Lamp) by Jean Image, Les Contes de la nuit (Tales of the Night), Le Tigre (The Tiger) or L’Envol (The Takeoff).
