As any other self-respecting nightlife capital, Paris continuously renews its park of “trendy” places. The venues change their names and are renamed really fast with just a click of the fingers! But here are some of the iconic locations to stay up-to-date. During the hot weather, three bars located outside are a must. The Rosa Bonheur, located in the Buttes-Chaumont Park, becomes a dance floor as soon as the day fades. The Barourcq welcomes, close to the banks of the canal, the late talk enthusiasts. And the delighted Villette, under the courtyard of the Grande Halle de la Villette, offers mixed aperitifs every weekend of the summer. In the 14th district, the Entrepôt mixes cinema, restaurant, bar, exhibitions, art, concerts, poetry and debates. Just like the Centquatre, right in the heart of La Chapelle, both a venue for contemporary art and concert hall.
More time-adjusted, the Café des sports hosts as soon as it gets dark. Just like the charming barge El Alamein with its coloured look, many plants and its cosy interior, Quai François-Mauriac welcomes rock or pop singers. The historic Favela Chic, near République, always allows the samba and bossa-nova enthusiasts to dance between its tables. Same atmosphere can be met at Andy Wahloo, a superb oriental-disco cocktail bar that loves the world music. But all those mythical places had to make room to the many newcomers. The Bouillon belge, located in 20th district, put the user-friendliness and the colourful concerts in a place of honour. And, a few steps further, the Studio de l’Ermitage, located in a small former factory, became in a few years a highly-appreciated place of artistic creation, which transforms itself, during the weekend, into a dance temple.
Those that have sea-legs and love to dance all night long will appreciate the trendy venues located on the water. In front of the Garden of Tuileries, the discotheque of Concorde Atlantique allows all the international DJs to parade from behind its stage. The original Batofar, located at the bottom of the François-Mitterrand library, is always at the cutting-edge of the modern music. By its sides, the Dame de Canton(an authentic Chinese junk) is more eclectic and the very young Petit Bain is oriented towards the rock. On the ground, the coolest clubs are the most original. The Wagg, near Odéon, directed itself towards heated funk-groove-latino evenings. The same communicative energy can be found at Djoon, in the Bercy downtown, a New-York loft with very “black music” performances.
The new Paris Ile-de-France suggests you some routes to visit Paris according to your desires: culture, architecture, fashion, shopping, jazz, nightlife … or according to the places you want to see : Belleville, Ménilmontant , Montmartre , The Marais , The Latin Quarter , Rive gauche , Concorde , La Défense , Versailles , Louvre , Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysées , Notre Dame … Organize your week-end or family trip with your children in Paris , France.
