Bercy is full of contrasts and surprises. Start with its park. In the middle of a business district, it offers more than 30 acres of green lung to the South-East of the city. Its vegetable garden, centenary trees, rose garden and vineyard will welcome you for a lazy stroll before you discover the district. It's good for cutting-edge art too! While exploring it, you may see an astonishing waterfall made of concrete.
After this bucolic moment, walk south to the Palais Omnisport de Paris Bercy (POPB). This challenging building is a pyramid covered with lawn. It was designed at the beginning of the 80's as a daring project. It still welcomes some of the biggest pop concerts or sports events happening in the city. Enjoy a break on its stairs, and admire the young skaters fighting for the most acrobatic figures in the skate park.
Follow the Park by the River. If you turn left on rue François Truffaut, you will reach the Bercy Village Mall. It used to be the wholesale wine market, but the stores have been refurbished into shops and restaurants, and some exhibition spaces. It's a good option for a spree... and it's open on Sundays!
If the walk gave you some appetite, go to the Café Ké, inside the posh Pullman Hotel for a refined and original cuisine. If you're a wine lover, taste some good vintage at Chai 33.
A great option for a Zen experience is to visit the Omnisens Spa. You'll be welcomed by lavender fragrances and a Riviera atmosphere, inviting you to relax and enjoy a massage or a facial.
