Le Pletzl

To prolong your journey in the Jewish quarter, go back to the rue de Turenne, turn right onto the rue Saint-Antoine. Across from the Saint-Paul metro station is the Jewish area, known as « Le Pletzl ». Defined by the rue des Rosiers, the rue des Ecouffes, the rue Pavée and  the rue du Roi-de-Sicile. A real village decorated by Hebrew shop signs, where the locals are all familiar, and the falafel's are eaten together on the street.

The most celebrated Jewish bakery is found at N° 27 of the rue desRosiers. Sacha Finkelsztajn, the oldest bakery in the neighbourhoodoffers a vast choice of original dishes that marry tradition withmodernity. You can't miss the canary coloured walls of the shop.
