In this foundation of contemporary art, the public discovers the latest works in a private space: a house, complete with a vestibule and a patio.
A red house built in an old, restored factory: la Maison rouge is the brainchild of Antoine de Galbert, an amateur art lover determined to present 'living artists' in all mediums. Antoine wished to reconcile the private universe with the domestic universe by creating a contemporary space open to the public. Since 2008, the Red House (la Maison rouge) also possesses a restaurant, le Transversal, where a young chef prepares innovative recipes to accompany the changing exhibitions.
