MAC/VAL

Just outside of Paris, the latest of the contemporary art museums has succeeded in creating a dialogue between the visitors and the art.

A transparent structure made of giant panes of glass. The inviting architecture allows you to enter this accessible museum, dedicated to French Art from the 1950’s until today. The works of art in the permanent collection, notably counting Christian Boltanski or Ange Leccia, provide the basis for an important exhibition each year. In parallel, the museum proposes a number of temporary exhibitions that create a dialogue with the permanent collection. As a family, over a glass of wine with the artists or actors…many different ways of visiting the museum are offered and accessible to all. The cinema, the garden and the restaurant, Le Transversal, where the specials are inspired from the artistic calendar, complete the convivial atmosphere that makes MAC/VAL a veritable ‘living space’ to discover and share.
