In order to offer even more excitement, the Musée des Sciences, du Multimédia et du Développement Durable is moving to Vitry-sur-Seine from 1st October.
After 10 years in the Jardin d’Acclimatation in Paris, the Exploradôme is moving to Vitry-sur-Seine from 1st October 2009!
The interactive museum, exploring science and multimedia and teaching sustainable development, is naturally continuing to target all ages from children aged over four to teenagers and even adults!
The adventure continues in a new energy-efficient building with innovative architecture, 500m from Mac/Val, the Val-de-Marne’s contemporary art museum. In this new larger and more welcoming space, the Exploradôme offers two science laboratories and a multimedia space to learn about digital design software.
You can also explore a permanent exhibition including around 40 surprising science experiments designed by the Exploratorium in San Francisco. Chosen for being particularly spectacular and attractive, these experiments are designed to astonish visitors and enable them to experiment, discover and understand, while having fun. And, unusually for a museum, at the Exploradôme the public is invited to get involved! Accompanied by scientific assistants, you will be able to handle and throw objects, create clouds and tornadoes, jump in the air, pull faces and strike a pose to fix your silhouette onto the wall…
Finally, the exhibition includes a "green” sustainable development tour which aims to raise the public’s awareness of environmental challenges. To encourage visitors to act as responsible eco-citizens, the Exploradôme even offers every visitor an opportunity to measure the environmental impact of their visit and contribute to controlling it.
