This majestic Classical-style square is a Parisian temple to jewellery. All the greatest jewellers in the world have chosen to base themselves here.
Located in the centre of the capital, between the Tuileries gardens and the Opéra Garnier, the spacious Place Vendôme is the work of Jules Hardouin-Mansart, Louis XIV’s architect. In the centre of this harmonious architectural complex, buildings decorated with colonnades and arcades, stands the impressive Vendôme column, a 44m-high bronze monument topped with a statue of Napoleon I.
The Place Vendôme is home to the most prestigious jewellers in the world. Boucheron - the first to set up shop there in 1893 - as well as Chaumet, Mauboussin, Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, etc. - the many signs of the great jewellers make this architectural showcase a symbol of luxury and elegance.
