Two voyages in one. Come and meet the Orient... And a jewel of contemporary architecture.
The Arab World Institute (L’Institut du Monde Arabe) proposes to discover the Orient, its history and culture in an incredible setting... A magnificent building designed by architect Jean Nouvel, who has made the institute a veritable link between oriental and occidental cultures. On the Northern facade, towards the Seine, we can see the image of a Parisian building as a symbol of the old world. On the Southern side, 240 moucharabiehs, diaphragms that open with the light, decorate the wall.
On the inside, The Arab World Institute reveals the culture of the oriental world. Through numerous exhibitions, the museum aims to give its visitors a glimpse of the Arab-Muslim civilisations and its art. Concerts and events, projections and films are organised in the auditorium.
To discover the savours of the Orient, take the lift to the 9th floor. Settle in at one of the tables at Zyriab: from the terrace, this Lebanese restaurant offers one of the best views of Paris..
