The Olympia

Some of the biggest French and foreign artists have come to perform at this legendary venue in Paris for over fifty years.

Barbara, Brassens, Brel, Piaf, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones… All the greatest musical artists have performed on stage at the Olympia.

This emblematic venue in the Opera area in Paris was set up at the end of the XIXth century. It was a well known music hall until 1929. It was then transformed into a cinema for a while. In the 1950s, it established itself as a mainstream cultural venue in Paris, under the management of Bruno Coquatrix.

Under his management, it soon became the concert hall in Paris, where new talents were discovered (Gilbert Bécaud, Dalida), and rising stars rocked the crowds (Johnny Hallyday). The 1960s and 1970s were the golden years of the Olympia.

The death of Bruno Coquatrix in 1979 did not affect the spirit of this now legendary venue. The Olympia was rebuilt identically in 1997. Nowadays, it continues to stage performances by great musical artists and singers (French variety, pop-rock, jazz...), and increasingly, by comedians (Stéphane Guillon, Florence Foresti, Guy Bedos, Dany Boon…).
