This itinerary gives the cyclist the opportunity to follow a route from Paris to London via greenways and shared roads.
Thanks to Avenue Verte London-Paris, you can now reach the French and English capitals by bike! At over 400km, this sign posted cycling route comprises of one third greenways and two thirds shared roads. In time, it will be improved by the creation of new greenways.
Crossing through much of the Seine-Maritime, the French section allows you to traverse seven departments (Paris, Seine-Saint-Denis, Hauts-de-Seine, Yvelines, Eure, Val d'Oise and Seine-Maritime) while discovering various landscapes and interesting sites (chateaux, cathedrals, etc.). Two routes are possible between Cergy-Pontoise and Saint-Germer-de-Fly: whether via the Epte valley and the Vexin, or through the Oise valley.
Crossing the Channel by ferry is between Dieppe and Newhaven. Once in the UK, cyclists can peddle along the slopes of the National Cycle Network to reach London. Again, various alternatives allow you to visit Brighton at the beginning of the route or take the road through the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells. Get on your bike!
