A child's walk

Whether you take a guided tour, a long walk or a pause at one of the monuments: discover Paris in a different way with your children: the Pompidou Centre, hidden behind the loveable « monsters » in the Nikki de Saint-Phalle fountain; be a gardener in the Tuileries next to the Louvre; explore the Canal de l'Ourcq in a Zodiac...

What if your children made you see Paris differently? For a new point of view of the capital, follow your children!

First stop on this child's walk:  la Tour Eiffel.  In this case, no need to climb to the top. Le Parc du Champs-de-Mars (Champ-de-Mars Park) offers an impressive view of the Iron Lady from the lawn and also provides a great place to run or play, the Carousel is sure to please, the puppet theatre and the pony rides are also a sure bet. Even better than the playground!

Two other green islands merit consideration: the Parc Georges-BrassensParc André-Citroën (Georges Brassens Park) with its rocks and climbing wall, and the , where you can look down upon Paris from a hot-air balloon!

From the Jardin des Tuileries you have a brilliant view of the Louvre. Hiding behind a statue by Rodin or Dubuffet, or proud of the flowers they just planted in the garden, the children can study in detail the architecture of the museum and its famous glass pyramid.

Another museum, another hiding spot. Before entering the Pompidou Centre, take a tour around the fantastical fountain decorated by artist Nikki de Saint-Phale.  The kids love this colourful fountain peopled with magical creatures that move.  Before heading inside the strange contemporary building wrapped in coloured tubes, the place Igor Stravinsky is ideal for a little recreation.

If you're little explorers are sports fans, take them on a tour of the Stade de France (The French Stadium). From the players changing rooms to the field, they can visit the entire stadium and imagine the most magical moments of their favourite football and rugby players.

End your « special children's visit » with a bicycle tour of Paris. You can hire children's bicycles at Vélo et Chocolat (Bicycle & Chocolate).  Before putting your coat and hat on, take a few minutes to try one of the best hot chocolates in town. An excellent fuel for young cyclists!  For the speed demons among you, head to the Contrast Association (Association Contraste, in Pavillons-sous-Bois) for a Zodiac ride along the Canal Ourq. You'll discover the history of the area in lightning speed!
