Mémorial de la Shoah

This monument of memory and information, surrounding the genocide of the Jews during the second world war, struggles to remember the past.

A giant stone wall from Israel, engraved with the names of the 76,000 Jews, 11,000 of them children, deported from France during World War II. Visitors light candles in front of the monument in honour of their memory.

Right next to the monument, beneath the ground, lies the Memorial crypt. In this second commemorative palce, a tomb pays tribute to the six million Jews that were exterminated during the Shoah.

The largest European centre for research, concerning the genocide of the Jews during WWII, proposes a varied program of exhibitions, permanent or temporary, workshops and documentation. A permanent exhibition reveals photos, videos and personal objects of those deported.

In an effort to protect the children, special workshops and visits are offered exclusively for them.
