The Photography Centre of Île-de-France

Point of access to modernity, the Photography Centre of Île-de-France offers its picture rail to the most contemporary productions, in a calming space.

This large area entirely dedicated to the art of photography was created outside Paris, at Pontault-Combault. In 1989, this well-spaced place belonging to the national network of art centres was established in the Paris region. Its cultural objectives are as ambitious as they are numerous: it is interested in the research, the production and the dissemination of artistic projects related to contemporary photography. To this effect, the exhibitions proposed are often amazing, off traditional fields, highlighting lesser-known artists, but just as talented.

The strong point of this area is the exchange. Conferences, meetings, training courses, workshops, residencies, film screenings, evening performances outside the walls, educational activities and practical workshops are very numerous. The public has a privileged relationship with the artist. It can discover him in a conventional manner, pacing through the vast exhibition halls or meet him personally to have a conversation.
